Current lifestyle, inappropriate diet, lack of physical activity, and bad sitting posture are liable for several health problems, including backaches. When you are in severe back pain, performing even the simplest movements is quite hard. Painkillers can provide immediate relief, but the regular use of these pills can often result in side-effects. Natural and safe ways are the best for backaches.

Here are some home treatments that can help reduce back pain:

Turmeric Milk

This miracle spice can help prevent and alleviate backaches. Curcumin, present in this spice, holds pain-relieving effects and thereby giving quick relief from back pain. In a warm glass of milk, pour a quarter tablespoon of turmeric powder and relish this effective drink. 

Cold or Hot Compress

A cold compress can help reduce swelling and relieve you from popping back pain. Properly wrap the ice pack in a towel and gently place over your back for about 15 to 20 minutes. Besides this, you can soak your towel in hot water and squeeze out the excess water and put it over the affected area. Repeat the process within a half-an-hour gap.

Ginger

Ginger can help relieve any pain and swelling due to its anti-inflammatory properties, thereby providing you quick relief. Crush some ginger and boil it with water. When it cools, strain it, and then drink. Drink this tea two to three times a day to get better results.

Oil Massage

Massaging your back with herbal oils such as eucalyptus, coconut, or mustard can help ease pain and reduce stress. Massage your back with some warm oil, leave it for a few minutes, and then take a warm shower. Apply this regularly for a few weeks until you get relief.

Sleeping Posture

A poor sleeping posture can also intensify back pain. When you sleep on your back, slide a pillow under your knees to avoid hurting your lower back. If you sleep on one side, place a pillow between your knees.

Stretches

The stretches can help relieve back pain. Stretching exercises like Touching the toes, Cobra pose, Cat pose, and Child’s pose is good for backache. Hold each stretch for at least 30 seconds or as long as you can.
