  • Crush a few of tulsi leaves and mix it in some warm coconut oil.

It can also use as herbal tea combine with other herbs or honey to enhance its useful properties. If headache causes due to sinusitis, allergies, cold or even migraines-

  • Firstly, boil a handful of tulsi leaves in two cups of water and let cool.
  • Then, soak a clean piece of cloth in it
  • Finally, strain out the excess water and gently place this on your forehead to treat a headache.

Additionally, you can also gain the avails of its cooling effects by making a paste of ground basil leaves and sandalwood. Apply this to your forehead, lie back and relax.

Fever and Cold

A study shows that tulsi leaves stimulate the production of immune cells, namely T cytokines, NK (natural killer) cells, and T lymphocytes to protect against infection. It carries antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds, that help in lowering temperature and in healing cough and cold.  Here are simple home remedies for cold and fever.

  • Chewing on some fresh tulsi leaves on an empty stomach can help one get rid of common cold and flu.
  • Boil a 6-7 fresh tulsi leaves with one-two teaspoons of powdered cardamom in half a liter of water.
  • On a low flame, reduce to half its total volume.
  • You can also add a tablespoon of honey or sugar to it and sip every two to three hours.

Eye Disorders

Make some juice by boiling a handful of tulsi leaves and heat till it becomes black. Put two drops into each eye daily at bedtime.

Insect Bites

Apply the raw juice of tulsi leaves directly on the affected area by using a cotton pad. Additionally, you can apply the paste of fresh roots that is also effective.

Sore Throat

Boil water with tulsi leaves and use it for gargling. You can also sip on this drink every hour or so. Besides this, drink basil tea will also give you instant relief from sore throat.

Itchiness

Mix same amounts of tulsi juice with lemon juice. Apply on the affected areas directly and let dry naturally. It helps to get quick relief from itching.

Mouth Infections

The leaves are quite useful for ulcers and infections in the mouth. Chewing a few leaves will cure these conditions.

Burns

To get relief from pain, apply tulsi juice mix with an equal amount of coconut oil directly on the burns.
